Our forecast for what we at Project Duo think,

Retail will look like in 2021 and beyond.

Multiple studies in multiple industries have concluded that forecast changes within retail over the next 10 years accelerated during COVID 19 and happened within the last 12 months.

Let's start with one thing we know for sure. Malls and shopping precincts will not die, they need to change, but they will not die. They have been around since the beginning of time. Since the very first village we had a town square, and we will always have a town square. We just now call it a shopping precinct. People want to gather, and after COVID people want to gather more than ever.

As we all are aware, everyone has increased their use of online shopping. But many other shopping habits have arrived a lot sooner than we forecasted per Covid19.

•Contactless shopping

•Curbside pick up

•Use of instore endless idles

•Popup stores

•Experience sites

•Showrooms with no stock, just showroom samples

•Smaller stores with reduced selections

•Hangout spaces both outdoor and indoor

•Creating community with brands values

•Interactive educational experiences. More classroom/museum than store.

The underlining statement that we need to be aware of is. Although they know the future will bring change, most retailers don't know which of the above will work for them. This means we need to be at the forefront of retail design, designing future-proof flexible stores. Stores that allow our retailers to experiment with multiple of the above propositions.

Lucky for us future Proof, and modularization are our value proposition. So this is our time to shine.
